Tour Itinerary

Day 1:

Day 1: Arrival in Moshi

  • Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport.
  • Transfer to your hotel in Moshi.
  • Meet your guide and fellow trekkers for a pre-climb briefing.
  • Relax and prepare for the adventure ahead.

Day 2:

Day 2: Lemosho Gate to Big Tree Camp (2,780m)

  • After breakfast, drive to the Lemosho Gate for registration.
  • Begin the trek through dense rainforest, spotting exotic wildlife along the way.
  • Reach Big Tree Camp and set up camp amidst the towering trees.
  • Enjoy a delicious dinner and rest for the night.

Day 3:

Day 3: Big Tree Camp to Shira 1 Camp (3,505m)

  • Depart from Big Tree Camp after breakfast, ascending through the moorland.
  • Pass by the captivating Shira Plateau with panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
  • Arrive at Shira 1 Camp and settle in for the night.
  • Marvel at the starlit sky before retiring to your tent.

Day 4:

Day 4: Shira 1 Camp to Barranco Camp (3,950m)

  • Trek across the Shira Plateau, admiring the vastness of the terrain.
  • Ascend to Lava Tower (4,630m), a challenging but rewarding climb.
  • Descend to Barranco Camp, nestled in the picturesque Barranco Valley.
  • Rest and rejuvenate while enjoying breathtaking views of the Barranco Wall.

Day 5:

Day 5: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp (3,995m)

  • Conquer the iconic Barranco Wall, a thrilling scramble offering stunning vistas.
  • Traverse the Karanga Valley, crossing rocky terrain and meandering streams.
  • Arrive at Karanga Camp, perched on a ridge overlooking the valley below.
  • Take in the awe-inspiring sunset over Mount Kilimanjaro before dinner.

Day 6:

Day 6: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp (4,673m)

  • Ascend steadily towards Barafu Camp, the final base before the summit.
  • Trek through the alpine desert, feeling the altitude with each step.
  • Reach Barafu Camp and rest before the challenging summit push.
  • Prepare your gear and mentally prepare for the exhilarating journey ahead.

Day 7:

Day 7: Summit Day - Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak (5,895m) to Mweka Camp (3,100m)

  • Awake before dawn and embark on the ascent to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa.
  • Trek through the darkness, guided by the light of your headlamp and the stars above.
  • Reach Stella Point (5,685m), where you'll witness the awe-inspiring sunrise over the African plains.
  • Continue to Uhuru Peak, celebrating your accomplishment with fellow climbers.
  • Descend to Mweka Camp, where you'll enjoy a well-deserved rest and hearty meal.

Day 8:

Day 8: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate - Departure

  • Descend through lush rainforest, savoring the sights and sounds of the vibrant ecosystem.
  • Arrive at Mweka Gate, where you'll receive your summit certificates and bid farewell to your guides and porters.
  • Transfer back to your hotel in Moshi for a celebratory dinner and overnight stay.
